Missions

AMCAN works in conjunction with COPTIC MEDICAL ASSOCIATION OF NORTH AMERICA, INC., (“CMANA, Inc.”) which was incorporated in 2009 under the laws of the State of New York and was granted 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt status under the Internal Revenue Code of the United States of America.

All of our mission trips are organized by the mission Committee, which is comprised of members from across the country and includes physicians, pharmacists, and dentists. After agreement on the mission schedule by the committee  the respective mission sites are contacted for approval. All missions are organized and conducted in accordance to the rules and spirit of the Coptic Orthodox Church and under the guidance of the local bishops and clergy supervising the mission sites.

What is medical mission ?

Our medical missions are one week trips where a group of healthcare professionals travel to offer their professional services to the people of the country we are serving. We provide a vast range of services including primary care (e.g. internal medicine and pediatrics) as well as subspecialty services. Surgical services are also offered where they are permitted and feasible.

What is healthED mission?

CMANA HealthED is an international mission trip that focuses on preventative medicine through interactive education. As a part of the HealthED team you will be trained by CMANA to aid children all over the world. As a part of this team, you will equip the youth you serve with practical skills related to nutrition, hygiene, mental health, and numerous other public health topics.
